Brake Hose Replacement - Front (Single Piston Caliper)
Removal Procedure1. Raise and suitably support vehicle.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
3. Clean the hose fittings at both ends. Remove all dirt, grease, and other foreign material.
4. Disconnect the brake pipe fitting.
5. Remove the front flex hose retainer.
6. Remove the bolt and the gaskets.
7. Remove the front flex hose.
Installation Procedure
Important: After installation, the brake hose must not be twisted, and the brake hose must not come in contact with other components.
1. Install the brake hose.
2. Install new brass gaskets.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the front flex hose to caliper bolt.
Tighten the bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the brake pipe retainer.
5. Connect the brake pipe fitting.
Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
6. Bleed the brakes.
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
8. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle.
