Seals and Gaskets: Service and Repair

Rear Extension Oil Seal Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement.





3. Remove the rear extension oil seal.

Installation Procedure

- J21426 Rear Extension Seal Installer





1. Install the new seal using J21426.
2. Install the propeller shaft. Refer to Propeller Shaft Replacement.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to Fluid Capacity. Use Dexron (R) III Automatic Transmission Fluid.
