Exhaust Manifold Replacement - Right

Removal Procedure
1. Raise the vehicle and install safety stands. Refer to Vehicle Lift Points.
2. Remove the right front tire. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Excessively Tight Wheels) in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.





3. Remove the right fender wheelhouse extension (1).





4. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
5. Remove the spark plug wire support.
6. Remove the spark plugs.
7. Remove the catalytic converter assembly.
8. Remove the starter.





9. Remove the exhaust manifold bolts.
10. Remove the exhaust manifold and the spark plug wire shields from the engine.

Installation Procedure





1. Sub-assemble the NEW gaskets, the spark plug wire shields, and the bolts to the exhaust manifold.
2. Install the exhaust manifold.
3. Install the starter.
4. Install the catalytic converter assembly.
5. Install the spark plugs.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





6. Install the spark plug wire support and the bolts.
^ Tighten the support bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
7. Install the spark plug wires.





8. Install the fender wheelhouse extension (1).
9. Install the front tire.
10. Remove the safety stands and lower the vehicle.
