Engine Mount Replacement (Front)
Removal ProcedureImportant: When performing this service procedure, do not lift the engine block by the crankshaft balancer. Damage to the crankshaft balancer, crankshaft pulleys, or the crankshaft could occur.
Do not replace the left or right at the same time. They must be replaced in two separate service procedures, so as not to cause an alignment problem when re installing the engine mounts.
1. Disconnect both the battery negative cables from the batteries.
^ For the front battery, refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Battery Cable Negative) in Starting and Charging.
^ For the auxiliary battery, refer to Battery Cable Replacement (Battery Cable Aux Negative) in Starting and Charging.
2. Raise the vehicle and support with safety stands.
3. Move the front wheel to the left against the steering stops.
4. Install the pole jack on the engine locating tab just to the left rear of the power steering pump.
5. Remove the engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers.
6. Remove the engine mount through bolt and the nut.
7. Raise the engine only enough to permit removal of the engine mount.
8. Remove the engine mount assembly.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the engine mount bracket to the engine block.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the engine mount assembly bolts, nuts, and washers to the crossmember.
^ Tighten the bolts to 59 Nm (44 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the nuts to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
3. Lower the engine until the engine mount through bolt can be inserted.
4. Install the engine mount through bolt and the nut.
^ Tighten the through bolt nut to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove the pole jack from the vehicle.
6. Connect both the battery negative cables to the batteries.
