Accumulator Assembly, Spacer Plate, and Gaskets

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the control valve body. Refer to Valve Body.
2. Remove the accumulator cover bolts.





3. Remove the 1-2 accumulator cover and pin, piston, and springs.





4. Remove the 1-2 accumulator piston spring.
5. Remove the 1-2 accumulator piston, and the oil seal.





6. Remove the oil pass cover bolt.
7. Remove the oil pass cover.





8. Remove the spacer plate.
9. Remove the spacer plate gaskets.





10. Remove the 3-4 accumulator spring.
11. Remove the piston oil seal ring.
12. Remove the 3-accumulator piston, and the pin.
13. Inspect the accumulator assembly.

Installation Procedure

^ Tools Required
- J25025-B Pump and Valve Body Alignment Pin Set
- J36850 TRANSJEL(R) Transmission Assembly Lubricant





1. Install the 3-accumulator pin into the transmission case.
2. Install the 3-4 accumulator piston onto the pin. The piston legs must face the valve body.
3. Install the 3-4 accumulator piston oil seal ring.
4. Install the 3-4 accumulator piston spring.
5. Install the J25025-B to the transmission case.





6. Install the case gasket and the valve body gasket to the spacer plate. The case gasket is identified by a C. The valve body gasket is identified by a V.
7. Use the J36850 in order to retain the gaskets to the spacer plate.
8. Install the spacer plate and the gaskets to the transmission case.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





9. Install the oil pass cover and the oil pass cover bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).





10. Install the 1-2 accumulator piston with the piston legs facing toward the case.
11. Install the oil seal ring to the accumulator cover.
12. Install the 1-2 accumulator spring onto the piston.





13. Install the 1-2 accumulator cover and the cover bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
14. Remove the J25025-B from the transmission case.
15. Install the control valve body. Refer to Valve Body.
