Power Steering Reservoir Inlet Pipe/Hose Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Siphon the fluid from the reservoir to prevent excessive spillage.
3. Remove the reservoir inlet hose (3) from the brake booster (2).
4. Remove the reservoir inlet hose (3) from the reservoir.
5. Remove the hose from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





NOTICE: The inlet and outlet hoses must not be twisted during installation. Do not bend or distort the inlet or outlet hoses to make installation easier. Failure to follow these procedures could result in component damage.

1. Route the hose in the same position the hose occupied prior to removal.
2. Smoothly route the hose in order to avoid sharp bends and kinking.
3. Install the reservoir inlet hose (3) to the reservoir. Position the clamp at the end of the hose.
4. Fully crimp the clamp to the hose.
5. Install the reservoir inlet hose (3) to the brake booster (2). Position the clamp at the end of the hose.
6. Fully crimp the clamp to the hose.
7. Check the power steering fluid level. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid.
8. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
