Power Brake Booster Outlet Hose Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Siphon the power steering fluid from the reservoir to prevent excessive spillage.
3. Remove the power steering outlet hose (1) from the hydraulic brake booster (2).
4. Remove the power steering outlet hose (1) from the steering gear (2).
5. Remove the hose from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: The inlet and outlet hoses must not be twisted during installation. Do not bend or distort the inlet or outlet hoses to make installation easier. Failure to follow these procedures could result in component damage.
1. Route the hose in the same position the hose occupied prior to removal.
2. Smoothly route the hose in order to avoid sharp bends and kinking.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the power steering outlet hose (2) to the steering gear (1).
- Tighten the hose fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the power steering outlet hose (1) to the hydraulic brake booster (2).
- Tighten the hose fitting to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
5. Check the power steering fluid level.
6. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
7. Bleed the power steering system.
