Auxiliary
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Service and Repair
2. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.
3. Remove the heater and A/C line cover from the underside of the auxiliary evaporator module.
4. Disconnect the heater lines from the auxiliary evaporator module from the underside of vehicle.
5. Remove the one retaining nut in order to remove the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly from the core.
6. Remove the two nuts securing the auxiliary evaporator module from the underside of the vehicle.
7. Remove the safety stands.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Remove the left body side rear trim panel.
10. Remove the upper auxiliary air outlet duct assembly.
11. Remove the lower auxiliary air outlet duct assembly.
12. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
13. Remove the two bolts inside the vehicle retaining the case to the vehicle.
14. Remove the auxiliary evaporator module assembly (1) from the vehicle.
15. Remove the screws from the case.
16. Split open the case.
17. Remove the evaporator core seal.
18. Remove the core from the case.
19. Inspect the gaskets and the seals for damage.
20. Replace the gaskets and the seals, as needed.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the evaporator core into the case.
2. Install the evaporator core seal.
3. Reassemble the case halves.
4. Install the auxiliary evaporator module assembly (1) to the vehicle.
5. Install the two bolts inside the vehicle in order to retain the case to the vehicle.
6. Connect the electrical connectors.
7. Install the lower auxiliary air outlet duct assembly.
8. Install the upper auxiliary air outlet duct assembly.
9. Install the left body side rear trim panel.
10. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
11. Install the two nuts securing the auxiliary evaporator module to the underside of the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
12. Install the one retaining nut to the auxiliary evaporator underbody rear tube assembly to the core.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft)
13. Install the heater lines to the auxiliary evaporator module from the underside of vehicle.
14. Install the heater and A/C line cover to the underside of the auxiliary evaporator module.
15. Remove the safety stands.
16. Lower the vehicle.
17. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Engine Cooling.
18. Recharge the refrigerant to the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
