Master Cylinder Replacement (Vacuum Brake Booster)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Remove the brake pipes from the brake master cylinder.
3. Plug the brake pipes in order to prevent brake fluid contamination.
4. Remove the nuts that secure the brake master cylinder to the vacuum power brake booster.
5. Remove the brake master cylinder from the vacuum power brake booster.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Before you install the master cylinder, bench bleed the master cylinder.
2. Install the brake master cylinder to the vacuum power brake booster.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the brake master cylinder nuts.
^ Tighten the brake master cylinder nuts to 36 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the plugs from the brake pipes.
5. Connect the brake pipes to the brake master cylinder.
^ Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
6. Bleed the brake system.
7. Release the parking brake.
