Low and Reverse Band Servo Apply Pin Check

- J 21370 - 10 Band Apply Pin Gauge
- J 38737 Band to Apply Pin Checking Tool





1. Install J 21370-10 into the low and reverse band servo pin bore.
2. Position J 38737 over the bore with the hex hub facing the parking pawl linkage.
3. Fasten J 38737 to the case with two servo cover bolts and tighten to 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
4. Verify that tool J 21370-10 moves freely in J 38737 and in the servo pin bore.
5. In order to determine the correct pin length; apply 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.) of torque to the hex hub on J 38737.
6. Observe the lands on J 21370-10 in order to see which land is even with the top edge of J 38737 and note the letter stamped on the tool.
7. Refer to Rear Servo Pin Specification Table in Transmission General Specifications under Specifications/Mechanical in order to determine the correct pin usage.
