Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect

1. Negative (-) battery cable.

2. Raise vehicle and suitably support.

^ Place drain pan under transmission oil pan.

^ Refer to "Changing Fluid and Filter".

3. Electrical connections from all solenoids and pressure switch assembly.

4. TCC Solenoid bolts (68 in Fig. 1) and solenoid assembly with 0-ring seal and wiring harness.

Install or Connect

1. TCC solenoid and bolts (68 in Fig. 1).

Tighten

^ Bolts (68 in Fig. 1) to 11 N.m (8 ft. lbs.)

2. Wiring harness connections to all solenoids and pressure switch assembly.

3. New filter with seal. Pan gasket, pan bolts and new fluid.

4. Refer to "Changing Fluid and Filter."

5. Lower vehicle.

6. Negative (-) battery cable.

Adjust

^ Fluid level, Refer to "Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure".

^ DEXRON� IIE Automatic Transmission Fluid. Inspect for leaks.
