DTC 61

DTC 61, 62 or 63 Reset Switches

Circuit Description

DTCs 61, 62 and 63 relate to the reset switches in the BPMV. If the reset switches send false pressure differences indications, these DTCs are set. No parts in the BPMV are serviceable. After verifying the DTC is consistent, the BPMV must be replaced.

Test Description

- Check the internal bleed screws for tightness and clear DTCs.
- Check reset switch operation using the Tech 1 with the brake pedal applied.
- Check history to see if DTCs have been set before.
- Check if DTC resets after 3 function tests with the Tech 1.

Diagnostic Aids

These DTCs can result from bleeding with the ignition ON or turning the ignition ON with the brake pedal applied. If that has occurred, clear DTCs and perform this procedure.

The BPMV gets its ground through the brake pipes. If DTCs 61, 62, and 63 occur together, check for a good brake pipe to frame ground.
