Date: May, 1986
Subject: METRI-PACK SERIES 150 TERMINAL REMOVAL
Model and Year: ALL MODELS
TO: ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS
This revised Dealer Bulletin cancels and replaces Chevrolet Dealer Service Bulletin 86-56 dated March, 1986 which should be destroyed. This reissue reflects a tool number change.
Some connectors used to connect various sensors to the ECM harness are shown in Insert A. (The example shown is a three terminal type.) These connectors may be used at the cam, crankshaft, MAT and coolant sensors along with ignition modules.
Terminals in these connectors are the pull-to-seat type. The wire is inserted through the connector body (4) and the seal (5). The terminal (1) is crimped to the stripped wire, then pulled back into the connector body until it is locked in place.
To remove the terminals (1), first slide the seal (5) back on the wires, then insert tool (3) BT-8446 or J35689 as shown in insert B to release the terminal, push the wire and terminal through the connector. If reusing the terminal, reshape the lock tang (2).
