Drive Motor Rotor Bearing Replacement

Special Tools

* DT-22928-B - Seal Installer

* J-45124 - Removal Bridge

* J-36850 - Transjel(R) Lubricant

* DT-47865 - Bearing Remover

For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools Tools and Equipment.

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the transmission case cover from the transmission. Refer to Case Cover Replacement Case Cover Replacement.

Note: Clean any debris on rotor or bearing with a lint free towel or rag.

Note: Lubricate the bearing assembly to allow the bearing remover to properly remove the old bearing.

2. Pack the transmission drive motor rotor bearing and center bearings, and the inner race with Transjel(R) Lubricant.




3. Install the DT-47865 - Bearing Remover (2) and J-45124 - Removal Bridge (4) on the transmission drive motor rotor bearing.

4. Remove the transmission drive motor rotor bearing from the transmission.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the new transmission drive motor rotor bearing (1) using DT-22928-B - Seal Installer (2) and a rubber mallet or equivalent.

Note: Measure A and B at four locations 90 degrees apart, ensuring the bearing is.95mm to 1.2mm.




2. Install the transmission drive motor rotor bearing until it is fully seated.

3. Install a new case cover gasket and Teflon(TM) seal. Refer to Case Cover Assembly Installation Case Cover Assembly Installation.

4. Install the transmission case cover to the transmission. Refer to Case Cover Replacement Case Cover Replacement.
