Output Shaft Speed Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.




3. Remove the OSS sensor retaining bolt.
4. Remove the OSS sensor from the transaxle.

Installation Procedure





Important: Lubricate the O-ring with T-IV Automatic Transmission Fluid GM P/N 88900925 (Canadian P/N 22689186).


1. Install a new O-ring on the OSS sensor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

2. Install the OSS sensor and retaining bolt into the transaxle.

Tighten the OSS sensor retaining bolt to 7.4 Nm (65 lb in).




3. Connect the OSS sensor electrical connector.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
