Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle on an alignment rack. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.




2. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts.
3. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp.
4. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator.
5. Clean the stabilizer shaft.

Installation Procedure

Important: There must be no grease or dirt on the stabilizer shaft. Verify the stabilizer shaft is clean.


1. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator to the stabilizer shaft.




2. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp to the insulator.

Important: Do not tighten the bolts yet.


3. Install the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts.
4. Lower the vehicle onto the alignment rack in order to place the weight of the vehicle on the tires.
5. Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts.

Tighten the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts to 40 Nm (30 lb ft).

6. Lower the vehicle.
