Stabilizer Shaft Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.
2. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.
3. Remove the left and the right stabilizer shaft-to-stabilizer link nuts.
4. Lower the crossmember slightly in order to access the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts. Refer to Front Suspension Crossmember Replacement Front Suspension.
5. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator clamp bolts.
6. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator clamps.
7. Remove the insulators.
8. Remove the stabilizer shaft.
Installation Procedure
Important: There must be no grease or dirt on the stabilizer shaft. Verify the stabilizer shaft is clean.
1. Install the stabilizer shaft to the crossmember.
2. Install the insulators to the stabilizer shaft.
3. Install the clamps to the insulators.
Important: Do not tighten the bolts yet.
4. Install the stabilizer shaft clamp bolts.
5. Raise and install the crossmember. Refer to Front Suspension Crossmember Replacement Front Suspension.
6. Raise and support the front lower control arms with jacks.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.
7. Install the left and the right stabilizer links and the nuts to the stabilizer shaft.
* Tighten the stabilizer shaft-to-stabilizer link nuts to 47 Nm (35 lb ft).
* Tighten the stabilizer shaft clamp bolts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
8. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation Service and Repair.
9. Remove the jacks.
10. Lower the vehicle.
