Front Suspension
Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Front
Tools Required
* 500-20 Hex Nut
* J 2619-01 Slide Hammer
* J 34866 Wheel Hub Remover
* J 36661-2 Forcing Screw
* J 37105-1 Support Bridge
* J 37105-2 Bearing Adapter
* J 37105-3 Hub Adapter
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the steering knuckle and the hub as an assembly. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement Service and Repair.
2. Use a vise in order to hold the knuckle.
3. Place the J 34866 over 2 wheel studs.
4. Use 2 wheel nuts in order to secure the J 34866 to the wheel studs.
5. Install the J 2619-01 to the J 34866 .
6. Use the J 2619-01 in order to remove the hub from the knuckle.
7. Remove the brake shield. Refer to Disc Brake Splash Shield Replacement - Front Disc Brake Splash Shield Replacement - Front.
8. Remove the outer snap ring.
9. Remove the wheel bearing with the following tools:
* J 37105-1 (1)
* J 37105-2 (2)
* 500-20 (4)
* J 36661-2 (3)
10. Clean the bore of the knuckle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the outer snap ring and press the wheel bearing into place with the following tools:
* J 37105-1 (4)
* J 37105-2 (1)
* 500-20 (2)
* J 36661-2 (3)
2. Install the brake shield. Refer to Disc Brake Splash Shield Replacement - Front Disc Brake Splash Shield Replacement - Front.
3. Press the wheel hub into place with the following tools:
* J 37105-3 (4)
* J 37105-2 (1)
* 500-20 (2)
* J 36661-2 (3)
4. Install the drive axle into the front wheel hub. Refer to Steering Knuckle Replacement Service and Repair.
