Fuel Filler Door Release Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Open the rear compartment.
2. Remove the rear compartment wheelhouse trim panels. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Liftgate) Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Liftgate)Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan) Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan).
3. Remove the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement.
4. Disconnect the cable from the fuel filler door.




5. Remove the lower center pillar seat belt bolt and the anchor.




6. Remove the screw and the fuel filler door remote cable handle cover.
7. Remove the screws and the fuel filler door remote cable handle.
8. Disconnect the cable from the handle.
9. Remove the driver side seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.
10. Remove the rear seats. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement - Rear Split Folding , and Rear Seat Cushion Replacement Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
11. Remove the left side front and rear door sill plates. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Plate Replacement Front Side Door Sill Plate Replacement , Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement.
12. Remove the left side body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement.
13. Remove the left side lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
14. Reposition the floor carpet on the left side of the vehicle.
15. Remove the cable.

Installation Procedure




1. Feed the cable from the rear compartment to the passenger compartment.
2. Install the floor carpet to its original position.
3. Connect the cable to the handle.
4. Install the left side lower center pillar trim panel. Refer to Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement.
5. Install the left side body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement.
6. Install the left side front and rear door sill plates. Refer to Front Side Door Sill Plate Replacement Front Side Door Sill Plate Replacement , Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement Rear Side Door Sill Plate Replacement.
7. Install the rear seats. Refer to Seat Back Replacement - Rear Split Folding Seat Back Replacement - Rear Split Folding , and Rear Seat Cushion Replacement Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
8. Install the driver side seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket Front Seat Replacement - Bucket.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

9. Install the fuel filler door remote cable handle with the screws.

Tighten the fuel filler door remote cable handle screws to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

10. Install the fuel filler door remote cable handle cover with the screw.

Tighten the fuel filler door remote cable handle cover screw to 3 Nm (27 lb in).




11. Install the lower center pillar seat belt anchor with the bolt.

Tighten the lower center pillar seat belt anchor bolt to 38 Nm (28 lb ft).




12. Connect the cable to the fuel filler door.
13. Install the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement.
14. Install the rear compartment wheelhouse trim panels. Refer to Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Liftgate) Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Liftgate)Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan) Cargo Area Rear Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan).
15. Close the rear compartment.
