Carpet Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear in Seats.
3. Remove the left and the right rear rocker trim panels. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear.
4. Remove the bolts and the left and the right lower front seat belt anchors from the center pillar.




5. Remove the left and the right front rocker trim panels.
6. Remove the left and the right lower center pillar trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar.
7. Remove the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
8. Remove the left and the right kick panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement - Hinge Pillar.
9. Remove the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
10. Remove the gearshift housing bolts and nuts and reposition the gearshift housing.
11. Remove the floor carpet.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the floor carpet.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the gearshift housing with the bolts.

Tighten the gearshift housing bolts and nuts to 8 Nm (70 lb in).




3. Install the floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor Service and Repair in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
4. Install the left and the right kick panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement - Hinge Pillar.
5. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement - Front Bucket Seat Replacement - Front Bucket in Seats.
6. Install the left and the right lower center pillar trim panels. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar.
7. Install the left and the right front rocker trim panels.
8. Install the left and the right lower front seat belt anchors to the center pillar with the bolts.

Tighten the seat belt anchor bolts to 38 Nm (28 lb ft).

9. Install the left and the right rear rocker trim panels. Refer to Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear Door Sill Plate Replacement - Rear.
10. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear in Seats.
11. Connect the negative battery cable.
