P2282
DTC P2282
DTC Descriptor
DTC P2282
- Intake Manifold Air Leak
Diagnostic Fault Information
Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.
Circuit/System Description
The engine control module (ECM) compares actual vacuum reading of the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor at idle to a calculated vacuum reading.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* The evaporative emission (EVAP) purge canister commanded state is less than 100 percent.
* The barometric pressure (BARO) is more than 72 kPa.
* The engine coolant temperature is greater than -10°C (14°F).
* The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor is greater than -20°C (-4°F).
* The ignition 1 voltage is between 11-16 volts.
* The engine has been operating for 2 seconds.
* The DTC runs continuously when the above conditions are met for 3 seconds.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The ECM detects that the actual vacuum reading is more than the calculated vacuum.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC P2282 is a Type B DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTC P2282 is a Type B DTC.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. DTC P2282 should not set.
2. If the vehicle passes the Circuit/System Verification Test, then operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that are captured in the Freeze Frame/Failure Records Data List.
Circuit/System Testing
1. Verify that none of the following conditions exist:
* The air intake duct system for loose connecting clamps, cracks, or other damage.
* A damaged throttle body blade or shaft
* Splits, kinks, or improper connections at the vacuum hoses.
* An EGR system leak
* Faulty PCV system operation
* Carbon deposits on the throttle blade. Refer to Throttle Body Service Procedures.
* Vacuum leaks at the intake manifold, throttle body, and injector O-rings.
2. If all conditions test normal, test the engine for proper camshaft timing. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement Service and Repair.
