Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure




1. Raise the rear compartment lid (2).
2. Remove the rear spoiler, if equipped.
3. Remove the rear lock cylinder.
4. Remove the overslam bumpers.
5. Remove the latch.
6. Remove the high mounted stop lamp.
7. Disconnect the rear compartment wiring harness from the body harness.
8. Remove the rear compartment lid-to-hinge nuts (1).
9. With an assistant, remove the rear compartment lid (2).

Installation Procedure




1. With an assistant, position the rear compartment lid (2) to the hinge.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the rear compartment lid hinge nuts (1).

Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Adjust the compartment lid as necessary. Refer to Compartment Lid Adjustment - Rear.
4. Connect the rear compartment wiring harness to the body harness.
5. Install the spoiler, if equipped.
6. Install the lock cylinder.
7. Install the overslam bumpers.
8. Install the latch.
9. Install the high mounted stop lamp.
10. Close the rear compartment lid.
