Bulletin No.: 04-08-52-004

Date: May 14, 2004

TECHNICAL

Subject:
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Inoperative (Replace Fuse)

Models:
2004 Chevrolet Aveo
with Remote Keyless Entry

Condition

Some customers may comment that the doors will not lock or unlock even though the lock or unlock button on the transmitter was pressed.

After inspection, the technician may find that the 15 amp fuse (F15) was blown.

Cause

This condition may be caused by an in-rush of current that can occur when the lock or unlock button is pressed, resulting in the designated fuse capacity being exceeded.

Correction

Replace the 15 amp fuse (F15) in the interior fuse panel with a 20 amp fuse, P/N 96234922, and replace the old label on the fuse panel cover with a new one. Close the door and verify that the RKE system functions properly.
