Fig. 6 Ball joint replacement:

1. Raise and support front of vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove 2 nuts and bolts attaching ball joint, tension rod and control arm.
4. Remove ball joint-to-knuckle pinch bolt, then the ball joint, Fig. 6.
5. Reverse procedure to install. Torque knuckle-to-ball joint nut to 51 ft. lbs. and ball joint, tension rod and control arm attaching nuts to 72 ft. lbs.
