"D" Range Test 1
Perform test with transmission fluid at normal operating temperatures.
1. Road test vehicle to bring transaxle to normal operating temperature, then place vehicle on dynamometer.
2. Place selector lever in "D" range, then with throttle valve at 50%, and 100% throttle valve openings, push in one of the pattern select buttons with OD switch On, and check that 1-2, 2-3 and 3-OD upshifts occur at points indicated in chart. No OD upshift will occur when coolant temperature is below 122°F, and no lock-up will occur if vehicle speed is 6 mph less than set cruise control speed.
3. If no 1-2 upshift occurs, a defective governor valve or a, stuck 1-2 shift valve is indicated.
4. If no 2-3 upshift occurs, a defective 2- 3 shift valve or No. 1 solenoid is indicated.
5. If no 3-OD upshift occurs, a defective 3-OD shift valve is indicated.
6. If shift point is incorrect, an improperly adjusted throttle cable, defective throttle valve, 1-2 shift valve, 2-3 shift valve or 3-OD shift valve is indicated.
