1. Remove thrust washer, then the thrust bearings and races from both sides of clutch, see image.
2. Using a suitable feeler measure clearance between snap ring and flange If clearance exceeds .0161-.0425 inch, replace discs and flange.
3. Remove snap ring from clutch drum, then the flange, discs and plates.
4. Compress piston return springs using tool Nos. J-25018-A adapter and J-23327 or equivalent, then remove snap ring.
5. Remove spring retainer, then the 18 springs.
6. Remove piston by applying compressed air to oil passage.
