Differential Case

1. Place outer race and selected adjusting shim onto RH side bearing, then place differential case into transaxle case.
2. Center differential case, then install LH bearing retainer and O-ring.
3. Clean retaining bolt threads, then apply a suitable sealant. Temporarily tighten retaining bolts alternately and evenly while rotating ring gear.
4. Torque LH bearing retainer to 14 ft lbs., then measure total preload as previously described.
5. Stake counter driven gear nut, then install drive pinion cap.
6. Clean threads of carrier cover attaching bolts, then apply a suitable sealant. Install carrier cover with new gasket, then torque attaching bolts to 18 ft. lbs.
