Throttle Position Switch

1. Connect a suitable tachometer to engine according to manufacturer's instructions.
2. Start and operate engine until coolant reaches normal operating temperature.
3. Disconnect throttle position switch connector, then connect a suitable ohmmeter between throttle position switch connector and ground.
4. Slowly raise engine speed, then check throttle position switch setting speed when ohmmeter shows continuity. Setting speed should be 1600-2000 RPM.
5. Adjust setting speed by turning throttle position switch adjusting screw.
6. Using a suitable ohmmeter, check for continuity between switch terminal and body.
7. If checks are not as indicated, replace switch.
