Ignition Coil: Service and Repair


1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect wiring and high tension cable from coil.
3. Remove ignition coil.
4. Using an ohmmeter, measure primary coil resistance across positive and negative terminals. Cold resistance should be 1.06 - 1.43 ohms.
5. Using an ohmmeter, measure secondary coil resistance between positive and high tension terminals. Cold resistance should be 10.8 - 16.2 ohms.
6. Install ignition coil and connect all wiring and cables.
