Power Brake Booster Pump Inlet Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the power vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.

2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair




3. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum pipe quick connect (1).




4. Disconnect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.

5. Remove the power brake booster vacuum sensor (1) from the power vacuum brake booster.




6. Release the power brake booster pump inlet pipe from the retainer (1) on the dash panel.

7. Remove the power brake booster pump inlet pipe retainer (2) from the dash panel stud.




8. Release the power brake booster vacuum rear pipe from the retainer (1) on the right front brake pipe.

9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Service and Repair.

10. Remove the right front wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement Service and Repair.




11. Remove the power brake booster pump splash shield push pins (1).

12. Remove the power brake booster pump splash shield.




13. Release the power brake booster pump inlet pipe retainer (1) from the power brake booster pump bracket.

14. Disconnect the power brake booster pump inlet pipe quick connect (2).

15. Remove the power brake booster pump inlet pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the power brake booster pump inlet pipe to the vehicle.




2. Install the power brake booster pump inlet pipe retainer (1) to the power brake booster pump bracket.

3. Connect the power brake booster pump inlet pipe quick connect (2).




4. Install the power brake booster pump splash shield.

5. Install the power brake booster pump splash shield push pins (1).

6. Install the right front wheelhouse front liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Front Liner Replacement Service and Repair.




7. Lower the vehicle.

8. Install the power brake booster pump inlet pipe to the retainer (1) on the right front brake pipe.




9. Install the power brake booster pump inlet pipe to the retainer (1) on the dash panel.

10. Install the power brake booster pump inlet pipe retainer (2) to the dash panel stud.





Note: A small amount of alcohol may be used as a lubricant. Do not use soap.

11. Install the power brake booster vacuum sensor (1) to the power vacuum brake booster.

12. Connect the power brake booster vacuum sensor electrical connector.




13. Connect the power brake booster vacuum pipe quick connect (1).

14. Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement Service and Repair
