Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning Brake Fluid Irritant Warning.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution.
1. Without draining the engine coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, position aside the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement Radiator Surge Tank Replacement.
2. Disconnect the secondary brake pipe fitting (1) at the master cylinder.
3. Plug the master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
4. Disconnect the secondary brake pipe fitting (1) at the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
5. Plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
6. Release the secondary brake pipe from the retaining clips (1).
7. Remove the BPMV secondary brake pipe.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the BPMV secondary brake pipe.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Connect the secondary brake pipe fitting (1) at the BPMV and tighten the fitting to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
3. Connect the secondary brake pipe fitting (1) at the master cylinder and tighten the fitting to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
4. Install the secondary brake pipe to the retaining clips (1).
5. Reposition the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement Radiator Surge Tank Replacement.
6. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual)Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure).
