Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning Brake Fluid Irritant Warning.

1. Without draining the engine coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, position aside the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement Radiator Surge Tank Replacement.




2. Disconnect the primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the master cylinder.

3. Plug the master cylinder outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.




4. Disconnect the primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).

5. Plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.




6. Release the primary brake pipe from the retaining clips (1).

7. Remove the BPMV primary brake pipe.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the BPMV primary brake pipe.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Connect the primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the BPMV and tighten the fitting to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




3. Connect the primary brake pipe fitting (1) at the master cylinder and tighten the fitting to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).




4. Install the primary brake pipe to the retaining clips (1).

5. Reposition the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement Radiator Surge Tank Replacement.

6. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual)Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure).
