Windshield Side Reveal Molding and Windshield Reveal Molding Clip Replacement

Removal Procedure





Note: If the retainer clips become damaged, new retainer clips are required.

1. Do Not bend in order to reform the retainer clips.
2. Remove the windshield side reveal molding from the vehicle. Refer to Windshield Side Reveal Molding Replacement (Windshield Side Reveal Molding Replacement).





Note: Apply 2 layers of masking tape on the glass next to the retainer clip (1) being replaced.

3. Apply the protective tape.

Warning

Approved safety glasses and gloves should be worn when performing this procedure to reduce the chance of personal injury.

4. Drill the rivets (2) securing the retainer clip to the windshield pillar.
5. Remove the retainer clip (1) from the windshield pillar flange.
6. Ensure all the metal shavings are removed from the windshield pillar area prior to the reveal molding installation.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the new rubber spacer to the inside of the vehicle.
The arrow on the rubber spacer must point outward upon installation.
2. Position the new retainer clip (1) to the rubber spacer.
3. Using a hand rivet gun, install new rivets (2) in order to secure the retainer clip.
4. Remove the 2 layers of masking tape from the windshield.
5. Clean off any present tape residue.




6. Install the windshield side reveal molding. Refer to Windshield Side Reveal Molding Replacement (Windshield Side Reveal Molding Replacement).
