Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the front transmission oil pan. Refer to Changing Fluid and Oil Filter.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the solenoid valves (1, 2).
3. Remove the solenoid valve retainer bolts and the retainer.





4. Remove the force motor solenoid valve (3).
5. Remove the torque converter clutch solenoid valve (4).

Installation Procedure





1. Install the torque converter clutch solenoid valve (4).
2. install the force motor solenoid valve (3).
3. Install the solenoid valve retainer and the bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

- Tighten the solenoid valve retainer bolts to 10 Nm (87 inch lbs.).





4. Connect the electrical connectors to the solenoid valves (1, 2).
5. Install the front transmission oil pan. Refer to Changing Fluid and Oil Filter.
