66. Overdrive Unit End Play Check

- Tools Required
- J 8001 Dial Indicator Set
- J 25022-A Front End Play Checking Adapter
- J 24773-A Oil Pump Remover





1. Install J 25022-A and J 24773-A onto the turbine shaft.
2. Attach J 8001 rod to the converter housing using one of the bolt holes.
3. Mount Dial Indicator J 8001 on the rod and index it to the turbine shaft.
4. Apply upward pressure by lifting on J25022-A until resistance is met and set the dial indicator to 0.

Important: If the end play is not correct, repeat the adapter case selective washer procedure.

5. Lift the turbine shaft further upwards with J 25022-A. The end play should measure 0.1 to 0.8 mm (0.004 to 0.03 inch).
