56. Overdrive Assemble

- 96042102 Turbine Shaft Seal Sizer
- J 36850 Transjel





1. Install the bottom turbine shaft seal (535) onto the turbine shaft.
2. Place the 96042102 over the seal. Leave the 96042102 in place for at least one minute in order to allow the oil seal to return to the proper size.





3. Install the turbine shaft oil seals (508) into the top and middle seal ring grooves on the turbine shaft (506). Retain with J 36850 or equivalent.





4. Install the overrun clutch housing (510) onto the turbine shaft (506).
5. Install the overdrive sun gear (519). The bevel edge of the internal splines faces downward.
6. Install the overdrive carrier assembly (525). Turn the assembly in a counter-clockwise direction only until the roller clutch enters the outer race. After assembly, rotate the assembly and listen for loose rollers.
7. Install the overdrive carrier retainer ring (526).
