29. Planetary Carrier Assembly Installation

Important: The planetary carrier and pinions must be aligned before installation

1. Before installing the planetary carrier assembly (653), align the markings, if present, on the planetary pinion gears so that they line up with the markings on the carrier.

2. The markings on the planetary carrier (653) consist of double lines which are to be lined up with the double points on two opposite pinions.

3. The single lines are to be lined up with the single points on the two pinions.





4. Using the input sun gear (646) as an alignment tool install the third clutch assembly (634-65O) into the planetary carrier assembly (653).

5. Install the third clutch and carrier assembly into the case. Turning the output shaft will help seat the planetary carrier assembly.




6. Remove the third clutch assembly (634-650)




7. Install the input sun gear washer (652).

8. Install the input sun gear bearing (651). Use J 36850 or equivalent to hold the bearing in place.
