22. Detent Lever and Manual Shaft Removal

1. Remove the manual shaft nut (57).





2. Remove the manual shaft spring pin (59) using diagonal pliers.
3. Insert a wire in the center of the pin to prevent collapsing the pin during removal.





4. Inspect the manual shaft for burrs before removing the shaft to prevent damage to the transmission case.
5. Remove the manual shaft (61).
6. Remove the manual shaft seal (62).





7. Remove the detent lever (60) and parking lock actuator rod assembly (56).
