Ignition Lock Cylinder
Removal Procedure1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in Restraints.
2. Remove the steering wheel inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Restraints.
3. Remove the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement
4. Remove the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement-On Vehicle
5. Remove the screw caps from the upper steering column cover.
6. Remove the screws from the upper steering column cover.
7. Remove the upper steering column cover.
8. Remove the screws from the lower steering column cover.
9. Remove the lower steering column cover.
10. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement in Restraints.
11. Insert a small pointed awl or wire into the ignition lock cylinder release pin hole.
12. Pull out the ignition lock cylinder.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the lock cylinder:
- Look into the hole that receives the ignition lock cylinder on the lower RH side in order to locate the locking lever.
- Carefully push down on the locking lever using a small flat-bladed tool until an audible click is heard.
- Install the ignition lock cylinder.
2. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Replacement in Restraints.
3. Install the lower steering column cover.
4. Install the screws to the lower steering column cover.
5. Install the upper steering column cover.
6. Install the screws to the upper steering column cover.
7. Install the screw caps to the upper steering column cover.
8. Install the tilt lever. Refer to Tilt Lever Replacement-On Vehicle.
9. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement.
10. Install the steering wheel inflator module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement in Restraints.
11. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in Restraints.
