Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Loosen the fuel filler cap in order to relieve the system pressure.
2. Remove the intake plenum.
3. Remove the valve bracket mounting bolt.
4. Disconnect the harness connector from the valve.
5. Disconnect the purge line from the [1][2]EVAP service port.
6. Remove the valve to gain access to the vacuum source line.
7. Remove the vacuum source line from the valve and discard the clamp.
8. Remove the purge valve.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the vacuum source line to the valve using a new clamp.
2. Install the valve.
3. Connect the purge line to the [1][2]EVAP service port.
4. Connect the harness connector.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the EVAP canister purge valve bracket mounting bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

6. Install the intake plenum.
7. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
