Condenser Tube Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDUREThe condenser tube is located between the condenser and the evaporator tube and is situated under the EBCM/BPMV on the LH side of the engine compartment.
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Disconnect the condenser tube (1) threaded connection from the evaporator tube extension (2).
3. Remove the condenser tube bolt at the condenser.
4. Remove the EBCM.
5. Remove the condenser tube retaining clips from the vehicle body.
6. Remove the condenser tube.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the condenser tube.
2. Install the condenser tube retaining clips to the vehicle body.
3. Install the EBCM.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the condenser tube bolt at the condenser:
^ Use new O-rings.
^ Lubricate the O-rings with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
5. Connect the condenser tube (1) threaded connection to the evaporator tube extension (2) connection:
^ Use a new O-ring.
^ Lubricate the O-ring with mineral oil, 525 viscosity.
Tighten
Tighten the connection to 44 N.m (33 lb ft).
6. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
7. Leak test the fitting(s) of the repaired or reinstalled component using J 39400-A.
