Headlamp Relay: Service and Repair

Headlamp Relay Replacement




The low beam and high beam relays are located in the convenience center behind the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber directly below the steering column.

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the self-locking screws from the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.
2. Slide the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber upward to release the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber from the tabs.
3. Remove the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.




4. Remove the low beam relay (2), high beam relay LH (5)/RH (8) from the convenience center.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the low beam (2), high beam relay LH (5)/RH (8) to the convenience center.




2. Slide the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber downward to secure the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber to the tabs to install the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.

3. Install the self-locking screws to the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber.

Tighten
Tighten the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber self-locking screws until fully seated. Ensure not to strip the I/P driver knee bolster energy absorber self-locking screws.
