Defroster Actuator Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
The defroster actuator (2) is located on the passenger side of the HVAC module, directly above the heater core lines, facing the RH side of the vehicle.




1. Remove the RF floor air outlet.
2. Remove the I/P compartment.
3. Disconnect the defroster actuator electrical connector.

IMPORTANT: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated to access the screws for the following step.

4. Remove the defroster actuator screws.
5. Remove the defroster actuator from the linkage.
6. Remove the defroster actuator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the defroster actuator.
2. Install the defroster actuator to the linkage.

IMPORTANT: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated to access the screw holes for the following step.

3. Install the defroster actuator screws until fully seated and not stripped.
4. Connect the defroster actuator electrical connector.
5. Install the I/P compartment.
6. Install the RF floor air outlet.
7. Synchronize the actuators.
^ Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
^ Simultaneously press and hold the AUTO and OFF buttons on the H-A/C control panel for at least 5 seconds.
