Exhaust Pipe: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the exhaust mufflers. Refer to Muffler Replacement.
3. Remove the heat shield nuts.
4. Remove the heat shield.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the heat shield.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the heat shield nuts.
Tighten the heat shield nuts to 2 Nm (18 inch lbs.).
3. Install the exhaust mufflers. Refer to Muffler Replacement.
4. Inspect all exhaust system clearances. Refer to Exhaust System Clearances.
5. Lower the vehicle.
