Timing Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure1. Remove intake air resonator. Refer to Intake Air Resonator Replacement in Powertrain Management.
2. Remove the intake plenum. Refer to Intake Plenum Replacement.
3. Remove the timing belt cover. Refer to Timing Belt Cover Replacement
4. Remove the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
5. Remove the timing belt tensioner pulley bracket bolts.
6. Remove the timing belt tensioner bracket with pulley.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the timing belt tensioner pulley and bracket assembly.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the timing belt tensioner pulley bracket bolts.
Tighten the timing belt tensioner bracket bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the timing belt. Refer to Timing Belt Replacement.
4. Install the timing belt cover. Refer to Timing Belt Cover Replacement.
5. Install the intake plenum. Refer to Intake Plenum Replacement.
6. Install the intake air resonator. Refer to Intake Air Resonator Replacement in Powertrain Management.
