Drive Belt Tensioner: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
2. Unclip the wiring harness channel extension from the tensioner bracket.
3. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts. (If additional clearance is desired to access the tensioner bolts, remove the air filter housing.)
4. Remove the drive belt tensioner.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the drive belt tensioner.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the drive belt tensioner bolts.
Tighten the drive belt tensioner bolts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Clip the wiring harness channel extension to the tensioner bracket.
4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
