Condition

Some owners may comment on a loss of coolant, low coolant light on, and/or engine overheating.

Cause

Condition may be caused by an oil cooler cover leak due to an adhesion condition between the oil cooler cover and the engine block.

1. Remove the oil cooler cover from the engine. Refer to Oil Cooler Replacement in the Engine Mechanical section of the Service Manual.

3. Clean the engine block and oil cooler cover mating surfaces using a solvent that leaves no residue, such as P/N 12346139 (in Canada, use P/N 10953463), or equivalent.

4. Apply a continuous 2 mm (0.08 in) bead of sealant, P/N 2378521 (in Canada, use P/N 88901148), in the in the groove around the engine oil cooler cover.
