Coolant Pipe Replacement - Intake
Removal Procedure1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
2. Remove the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.
3. Remove the following coolant intake pipe components:
^ The heater core bypass hose
^ The coolant intake pipe hose (1)
^ The radiator outlet hose (2)
^ The support bolt (3)
^ The bolts (5)
4. Slide the coolant intake pipe (4) rearward under the front of the cowl to remove.
5. Remove the intake pipe seal (6).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the coolant intake pipe seal (6).
2. Slide the coolant intake pipe (4) under the front of the cowl and forward into the proper mounting position.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the following coolant intake pipe components:
^ The coolant intake pipe bolts (5).
Tighten the coolant intake pipe bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
^ The coolant intake pipe support bolt (3).
Tighten the coolant intake pipe bolt to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
^ The radiator outlet hose (2)
^ The coolant intake pipe hose (1)
^ The heater core bypass hose
4. Install the transmission. Refer to Transmission Replacement in Transmission and Drivetrain.
5. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
