Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir cover (1).
2. Remove the brake fluid from the reservoir and discard in accordance with local regulations.
3. Remove the reservoir from the master cylinder body.
4. Remove the grommets from the master cylinder body.
5. Inspect the reservoir and the grommets for cracks and/or deformation, replace as necessary.
6. Clean the reservoir with denatured alcohol and dry with unlubricated compressed air.

Installation Procedure
1. Lubricate the new grommets and reservoir flanges with clean brake fluid.
2. Install lubricated grommets to the master cylinder body and ensure they are completely seated.
3. Install the reservoir to the master cylinder body.
4. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations.





5. Install the master cylinder cover (1).
6. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
