Brake Pipe Replacement - Rear
Removal Procedure1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Clean any dirt and/or foreign material from the hose and brake pipe fittings.
3. Remove the steering gear shield nut.
4. Remove the steering gear shield bolt.
5. Remove the steering gear shield.
6. Remove the intermediate brake pipe from the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).
7. Remove the intermediate brake pipe from the rear T-fitting near the differential.
8. Remove the intermediate brake pipe (1) from the underbody clips (2).
Installation Procedure
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
1. Install the intermediate brake pipe (1) to the underbody clips (2).
2. Install the intermediate brake pipe to the rear T-fitting near the differential.
^ Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the intermediate brake pipe to the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM).
^ Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the intermediate brake pipe sections (2) to the brake pipe coupling (1) if using sections of pipe.
^ Tighten the brake pipe fitting to 16 Nm (112 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the steering gear shield.
6. Install the steering gear shield bolt.
^ Tighten the steering gear shield bolt to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
7. Install the steering gear shield nut.
^ Tighten the steering gear shield nut to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
8. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
9. Lower the vehicle.
